Lorre Festival 2024

About the project

Capturing unique moments

Lorre Festival, hosted annually by students of TU Delft, is a vibrant gathering that draws students and like-minded individuals to celebrate together in Delft. Known for its lively atmosphere, the festival has become a staple event within the community, offering a space for fun and festivities.

Challenge

Traditionally, the festival’s after movies were produced using professional videographers, limiting the perspective to that of an outsider looking in. This year, Lorre Festival’s organizers sought a more inclusive approach to content creation, one that would allow attendees to play a significant role in documenting the event.

Social House was introduced to Lorre Festival as a dynamic platform capable of empowering all festival-goers to contribute directly to the creation of this year’s aftermovie. Excited by the potential to democratize content creation, the organizers quickly adopted the platform.

The way Social House works

  • UGC Collection: A dedicated ‘House’ was established within the Social House app, specifically tailored to meet the festival’s unique needs. The festival’s branding was integrated into the app, creating a seamless experience for users.
  • QR Code and Web Access: The organization utilized QR codes strategically placed around the festival grounds to facilitate easy access to the House. Additionally, a web-based version of the platform was made available, making it simple for attendees to share content via WhatsApp and social media.
  • Professional and User Content Integration: Over 300 pieces of content, including videos, selfies, and other images were collected directly from attendees. To enhance the visual quality of the aftermovie, Social House connected the festival with Ashley, a professional creator skilled in drone videography. Her aerial shots added a dramatic and professional flair to the aftermovie.

Results

  • High Engagement: The easy accessibility of the platform led to significant engagement, with hundreds of attendees uploading their personal moments from the festival.
  • Comprehensive Aftermovie: Combining user-generated content with professional drone footage resulted in a visually captivating aftermovie that truly captured the essence of Lorre Festival from the attendees’ perspectives.
  • Enhanced Community Feel: Allowing attendees to contribute to the aftermovie fostered a stronger sense of community and ownership among participants, enriching their festival experience.
